Good news for home buyers

Yesterday’s budget heralded some good news for those people who are scrambling to complete their house purchase before the deadline of 31st March. Now extended to the end of June, it gives buyers a welcome extension.

Last year The Treasury announced it would temporarily raise the stamp duty threshold from £125,000 to £500,000 for property sales in England and Northern Ireland.

After June 30th, the limit will be lowered to £250,000 until the end of September.

A return to the normal level will commence on October 1st, 2021.
