Training Day for Family Law Team
Yesterday, we had a training day for our family law team at our Redditch office.
At the beginning of the day, Sally from Pathways Family Mediation came to talk to us about the benefits of using the mediation process. Though not right for all, it can be a useful tool to help people reach a settlement when separating.
Mediation is impartial, unbiased, and allows people the space to discuss their options without it being formally binding.
Sally is especially experienced in family mediation and children's matters. She spoke passionately about the importance of hearing the voice of the child, ensuring that any arrangements are in their best interest and are 'reality tested' - meaning that they are practical and feasible in real life.
Sally spoke to us about public funding for mediation services and a Ministry of Justice, non means tested, voucher scheme, which can help people to cover the cost of mediation sessions, making it more accessible.
The team thoroughly enjoyed the visit and hearing about Sally's work.
After Sally left, our team spent the rest of the day covering other topics, including new developments in the law.
Here at Bank Solicitors we have regular training days and like to ensure we are continually updating our knowledge, so we can offer the best service possible to our clients.
